Welcome to week nineteen of Kriletown News.
Before we jump into the news I would like to share a story with all of you.
This week the kids and I are talking about conflict along with small, medium and large problems. We were discussing what to do when we have a conflict along with big feelings. The subject of a calm down space was brought up. A few children shared in kindergarten they had a spot in the room that was separate, cozy, and had a stuffed animal to snuggle. Anyone having a big feeling could take a few minutes to relax and then return to the group. Several of your littles mentioned we don't have a calm down corner. (this is the good part) One brave soul spoke up and said "in Kriletown we don't need a calm down spot the whole room is calm. It is like being at our house!" THIS, this is my goal! I want your children to feel comfortable to ask questions, be brave and have all the feelings. I think we are on our way!
Here is a look into what we have been learning during week 19 of our Kriletown adventures.
